Spicy sausage meets creamy feta and sweet honey on golden crispy crust

# What You’ll Need:

→ Dough & Base

01 - 1 lb pizza dough, store-bought or homemade
02 - 2 tbsp olive oil, divided

→ Sausage & Cheese

03 - ½ lb hot Italian sausage, casings removed
04 - 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
05 - ½ cup crumbled feta cheese

→ Toppings & Garnish

06 - ¼ cup hot honey
07 - ½ tsp red pepper flakes
08 - Fresh parsley or basil, chopped

# How-To Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 475°F. Place pizza stone in oven if using to preheat.
02 - On lightly floured surface, roll pizza dough to desired thickness for two medium pizzas.
03 - In skillet over medium heat, cook sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking into crumbles. Drain excess fat.
04 - Transfer rolled dough onto pizza stone or baking sheet. Brush each crust lightly with olive oil. Evenly sprinkle mozzarella over dough, followed by cooked sausage and crumbled feta.
05 - Bake for 12–15 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.
06 - Remove pizzas from oven. Immediately drizzle hot honey generously over each pizza. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes if desired. Garnish with chopped fresh herbs. Let rest 5 minutes before slicing and serving.

# Expert Hints:

01 -
  • The sweet and spicy combination is absolutely addictive and something you cant get from delivery
  • It comes together in under 40 minutes but tastes like something from a gourmet pizza restaurant
02 -
  • Never put honey on before baking or it will burn and turn bitter instead of sweet
  • Let the pizza rest 5 minutes after baking or the cheese will slide right off when you slice it
03 -
  • Room temperature dough stretches much easier than cold, so take it out 30 minutes before rolling
  • A pizza peel dusted with cornmeal is the easiest way to slide pizza onto a hot stone
